Ripple has announced a new partnership with South Korea’s Jeonbuk Bank to modernize cross-border business payments. The agreement marks another step in Ripple’s expansion across the Korean financial sector.
Through the partnership, Jeonbuk Bank will deploy Ripple Payments to support faster international transactions. The service is designed to enable cross-border payments around the clock, including outside traditional banking hours.
Ripple says the technology can significantly reduce the time required for international transfers. Instead of relying entirely on traditional processes that can take days, businesses could gain access to faster settlement and improved payment efficiency.
The deal also strengthens Ripple’s presence among Korean financial institutions. Jeonbuk Bank becomes another major banking partner in the country as demand grows for modern digital payment infrastructure.
The announcement comes as banks worldwide look for faster and more efficient ways to move money internationally. Ripple Payments is designed to connect financial institutions and streamline cross-border payment flows.
While the partnership is a major development for Ripple, it does not officially confirm that Jeonbuk Bank will use XRP for every transaction. The announcement focuses on Ripple Payments, so claims that the bank has completely replaced SWIFT or officially adopted XRP should be treated cautiously.
For Ripple, the Jeonbuk Bank partnership represents another important institutional milestone. As banks continue exploring faster digital payment infrastructure, Ripple is positioning its payments technology as an alternative approach to traditional cross-border systems.
