The XRP Ledger (XRPL) reached approximately 3 million daily transactions on March 15, 2026, marking a significant increase in network activity. Ripple reported that the figure was roughly three times the average level seen in mid-2025, highlighting the growing use of the ledger for digital-asset activity.
The increase comes as the XRPL ecosystem continues to expand beyond simple XRP transfers. Ripple pointed to growth in automated market maker (AMM) pools, tokenized assets and RLUSD-denominated settlement flows as important contributors to the rise in activity.
Tokenization has also become an increasingly important part of the network. Ripple reported that real-world assets represented on the XRPL had grown to more than $474 million, while total represented value was approaching $1.5 billion. These figures point to broader experimentation with bringing traditional financial assets onto blockchain infrastructure.
The growth in transaction activity does not necessarily mean that every transaction represents a new user or direct demand for XRP. Blockchain activity can include automated processes, trading, liquidity operations and transfers between existing participants. Therefore, transaction counts should be considered alongside other measures of network adoption.
The XRPL's decentralized infrastructure is designed for fast and low-cost settlement. Ripple says the ledger can settle transactions in roughly 3–5 seconds, with transaction costs generally measured in fractions of a cent. These characteristics have helped position the network for payments, tokenization and decentralized finance applications.
Development of the network is also continuing in 2026. Recent XRPL releases have introduced or supported functionality involving areas such as lending, vaults, multi-purpose tokens and permissioned domains, expanding the types of financial applications that can potentially operate on the ledger.
With daily activity reaching the 3-million-transaction level and tokenized assets continuing to grow, the XRPL is attracting increasing attention as blockchain infrastructure for financial applications. Whether this activity translates into sustained XRP demand will depend on how much real-world payment, liquidity and institutional usage develops across the ecosystem.
