In 2025, XRP has officially taken the lead as the most popular cryptocurrency among Gen Z investors, beating out even Bitcoin and Ethereum in several key markets. Recent surveys and on-chain data reveal that young investors are increasingly drawn to XRP’s affordability, social media buzz, and real-world use cases.
According to Gemini’s 2025 “State of Crypto” report, over 51% of Gen Z investors globally now own cryptocurrency, with XRP ranking at the top for many of them. In the U.S., Gen Z outpaces all other age groups in crypto adoption, showing the highest willingness to allocate over 5% of their investment portfolios to digital assets.
A big factor behind XRP’s popularity is its accessibility—priced far lower than BTC or ETH, it feels more attainable for younger investors just starting their financial journeys. The rise of TikTok and crypto influencers also played a major role in XRP’s surge. Viral videos and hashtags like #XRP have racked up billions of views, fueling massive interest and FOMO (fear of missing out) among Gen Z traders.
On-chain metrics also support XRP’s rise: in early 2025 alone, 58,000 new XRP wallet addresses were added—outpacing all major competitors. In South Korea, one of the most active crypto markets, XRP regularly tops trading charts and has even been disclosed in government officials’ portfolios.
This surge is further boosted by confidence in Ripple’s expanding ecosystem, including global partnerships, tokenization projects, and ongoing legal clarity in major markets like the U.S.
While Gen Z leads the crypto revolution, financial experts remind investors to do their research and avoid relying solely on social media trends. XRP, like all crypto, remains volatile, and balanced investing is key.
